Carpenter Ants are known to cause significant damage to all kinds of structures. These mostly black bodied pests are found around damp, dead wood which are attractive areas for nest building. Instead of eating the wood like termites do, carpenter ants simply hollow out pathways inside wood. Certain parts of structures, e.g., around the underside of windows and decks, are most vulnerable to moisture and most attractive to the pest.

On behalf of the University of Idaho, TechHelp, Sprague Pest Solutions and our Presenters , we would like to invite you to join us for this informative day of presentations. Information will be presented by a cast of industry professionals including Dr. Bobby Corrigan who helped New York City wage war on rats. Dr. Corrigan was inducted into the Pest Management Hall of Fame in 2008.

During this day-long workshop you will:

  • Discover food industry trends impacting your pest management program.
  • Learn what it takes to get 100% in the pest control category on third party audits.
  • Get beyond-basics training to improve internal pest control audits.
  • Leverage new strategies and tools for preventing pests in food plants.
  • Make sense of the different GFSI audit standard requirements.

NPMA Hosts Event in Seattle

On Friday, April 30th, Larry Treleven of Sprague Pest Solutions helped facilitate a National Pest Management Association Workshop in Seattle, Washington. This workshop helped people from the multi-family housing and hotel industries better understand bed bugs and their behavior. Seattle is one of 16 locations that the NPMA is doing across the country.

Grant Gummow Speaks at AHMA/CARH Convention

The Second Annual AHMA/CARH Convention took place April 18th through the 20th with Sprague representatives, Grant Gummow, May (the bed bug dog) and Tom Please, her handler, were present and accounted for. The Seattle office's Grant Gummow, National Account Manager, was invited as guest speaker having nurtured a business relationship with both the Affordable Housing Management Association of Washington and the Washington State Council for Affordable and Rural Housing.
