Thanksgiving is a holiday built around family. While families are defined many different ways, the core values of caring, trust and loyalty are there no matter what; it’s what holds families together.

The Sprague Pest Experts recognize the value of family when it comes to providing expert pest management services to our residential and commercial customers across seven states in the Pacific Northwest and Inter Mountain regions.

If you have a problem with pests in your home or business, we will be there with a solution, a guarantee that we will get the job done to your satisfaction, and the peace of mind that we’ve got your back when it comes to pests.

Our deep commitment to customers isn’t a recent phenomenon we learned from a motivational speaker at a management seminar. It is a time-tested practice that has been part of the fabric of Sprague Pest Solutions since the first hour of the first day we opened our doors in 1926.

We pride ourselves on the personal attention we pay to customers, and truly want to understand your needs in order to deliver the best possible service and achieve the desired results. The Sprague Pest Experts know pests such as rodents, ants, spiders, flies and stinging insects are not part of your “family” tree and we work each and every day to make sure they don’t become a problem for you or your customers.

How did this family oriented business get started? It began in 1926 during President Calvin Coolidge’s one and only term in office when W.B. Sprague opened the doors and started providing pest control services to the residents of Pierce County, Washington (population 144,000 at the time).

In 1931, A.H. Treleven Sr. purchased W.B.’s company and not long after the ink dried on the contract, the country slid into the depths of the Great Depression. Fortunately, pests are for the most part depression-resistant and customers still needed to protect their homes and businesses from harmful pests and the business made it through the tough times.

A.H. Jr. joined the company as the dark clouds of the depression were disappearing and set forth on building an organization that cared deeply about both its employees and customers. He crafted standards that have been built on by his sons, Larry and Alfie, and that are being furthered by members of the fourth generation in our nine service centers from Seattle to Salt Lake City.

When you consider only 30 percent of family businesses make it to the second generation, and only 3 to 5 percent make it as far as the fourth generation, you can understand why we go about our work with pride, dedication and purpose.

Protecting customers’ property from pests who want to spread disease, spoil food, damage structures or simply be a nuisance is an important job. We handle each account like it were our own home or business, and while we may have a “family” squabble every once in a while (usually over who ate the leftover pizza in the employee lounge!) we always put our extended family – our customers – first.

The Sprague Pest Experts are always available to answer your questions about pests in your home or business. Feel free to send us an e-mail at with your comments or questions. We’ll be happy to get back with you with an answer.

From the entire family of Sprague Pest Experts, we wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
