As of January 1, 2023, AIB International Consolidated Standards for Inspections has updated their industry best practices, new regulations, and food safety requirements. As part of their commitment to ensuring the integrity of the food supply chain, the company invested time and resources to update five of its Consolidated Standards, including the Consolidated Standards for Prerequisite & Food Safety Programs, Beverage Facilities, Non-Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities, Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities, and Food Distribution Centers.
What does this mean to you?
Reviews: Sprague will now conduct three (3) quarterly reviews in addition to your one (1) annual review. Failing to undergo quarterly and annual reviews will result in a deduction on your audit; as stated in section 184.108.40.206: Pest sightings and activity evidence are reviewed by pest management personnel at least quarterly or more frequently to identify trends. A report of findings is submitted to designed facility personnel.
Risk Assessments: According to the updated standards, it’s now a critical requirement to undergo a facility assessment. As stated in section 4.1: An annual assessment of the facility is conducted to provide an evaluation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program to ensure that it is effective.
