The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced the availability of the Compliance Policy Guide on Food Facility Registration for Human and Animal Food.
The CPG provides guidance regarding the enforcement of the food facility registration provisions that were amended by the Food Safety Modernization Act. Provisions include the requirement that certain food facilities register with FDA, the requirement that registered facilities biennially renew their registrations with FDA, and FDA’s authority to suspend a food facility’s registration.
