Investing in Our Team’s Growth and Development: The Key to Success at Sprague

May 15, 2023 – Investing in our team’s growth and development is crucial – not only for the success of our business – but for the overall well-being of our employees. At Sprague, we believe in whole person development, which means providing our team members with skills that can benefit both their personal and professional lives. 

By offering programs such as technical training, leadership development, and communication skills, we can help our employees learn new professional skills and improve existing ones. This not only leads to increased productivity, better quality work, and a more efficient workplace, but it also betters the communities that our team members work and live in. We believe that by investing in our employees’ growth and development, we are investing in the success of our business. 

In addition to professional development, we also offer webinars that address life skills: how to buy your first home, how to eat healthily on the go, understanding HSA’s, and much more. We believe that by providing our team members with resources that can benefit their personal lives, we are investing in the well-being of our communities.  

One of the significant challenges faced by many businesses is team member retention. We are proud to recognize nearly 200 Leadership Development 1 & 2 graduates. Throughout the years, we have found that team members are more likely to stay within our organization if they feel valued and know Sprague is committed to personal and professional growth. 

In today’s fast-paced business environment, changes are inevitable. Our team members must be adaptable and flexible to handle these changes successfully. Development programs can help our team members acquire new skills and knowledge, making them better equipped to handle challenges in the workplace. We believe that it is our role to remove barriers for individuals that may not have opportunities to gain advanced certifications such as the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) or Board-Certified Entomologist (BCE). We support our team by covering all costs associated with obtaining these certifications. This increases the likelihood of individuals engaging in the programs, leading to advanced problem-solving skills, ensuring that we can adapt to changes quickly, which is essential to the success of our business. 

Development is at the core of Sprague’s culture. We believe that by having a culture of continuous learning and improvement within our organization, it becomes an essential value that all members buy into. This can lead to a more engaged and motivated workforce, which is crucial to our success. Overall, training and development are essential to the growth and success of our business.
