Sprague Pest Solutions Scholarship Winners Share A USD10,000 Pool
Since its founding in 1926, Sprague Pest Solutions has been unequivocal in its commitment to encourage and support employees to advance their professional and personal education. The company has always believed that an investment in training and education is an investment in its clients.
To expand its commitment to continuing education the company has created the Sprague Pest Solutions Scholarship Fund. The fund will assist Sprague employees and their children in their pursuits of traditional postsecondary education, technical or vocational training. This year’s three recipients will share a USD10,000 pool – an increase of USD5,000 from 2021 – for their continuing education pursuits.
The 2022 scholarship winners include:
Nicholas Monterroza of Los Angeles, California. Nicholas is the son of Antonio Monterroza, a route manager in Sprague’s Los Angeles branch. He will be attending California State University at Northridge in the fall.
Cole Peloquin of Tacoma, Washington. Cole is the son of Rick and Alexis Peloquin. Rick is the Tacoma branch manager and Alexis is a sales liaison at Sprague corporate headquarters. Cole will attend either Bates Technical College or Pierce Technical College.
Derek Strahan of Puyallup, Washington. Derek is the son of Christopher Strahan, a route manager in the Tacoma branch. Derek will continue his studies at Western Washington University.

Scholarship applicants were asked to submit an essay describing what they have done to give back to their community, what has been there most significant accomplishment and how it impacted their life and how they intend to use the scholarship to advance their skills, knowledge and abilities as they pursue their education. A select committee of Sprague employees reviewed the applications.
Sprague’s investment in training and education has resulted in an internal robust training program and leadership development program that has produced two Board Certified Entomologists (B.C.E.) and 24 Associate Certified Entomologists (A.C.E.).
