Scholarship Fund Winners Announced by Sprague Pest Solutions

Sprague's Support of Continuous Learning Extends to Employee Families

One of the hallmarks of Sprague Pest Solutions has been its dedication to continuing education.

Since its founding in 1926, Sprague has been absolute it its commitment to provide for and encourage employees to advance their professional education. The company currently has four Board Certified Entomologists and 28 Associate Certified Entomologists among its ranks.

In 2021, the company sought to expand its support of continuing education by creating the Sprague Pest Solutions Scholarship Fund to assist employees and their dependents in their pursuits of traditional postsecondary education, technical or vocational training. This year’s scholarship fund recipients will receive USD2,500 each for their continuing education pursuits.

Ryli Frost

Ryli Frost of Kuna, Idaho. Ryli is the daughter of Somer Nielsen, regional account manager based in Boise. She will be attending the College of Western Idaho in the fall.

Maddie Wallace of Zillah, Washington. Maddie is the daughter of Sprague Regional Manager Jared Wallace. Maddie will be pursuing her education at Yakima Valley Community College.

development,’ said Leila Haas, director of people operations. “We created the scholarship program as an opportunity for Sprague co-workers and families to achieve their educational aspirations and help them invest in their future.”

Scholarship fund applicants were asked to submit an essay describing what they have done to give back to their community, what has been there most significant accomplishment and how it impacted their life and how they intend to use the scholarship to advance their skills, knowledge and abilities as they pursue their education.

The applications were reviewed by a select committee of Sprague employees and winners were notified in early September.

Sprague, the largest privately owned pest management company dedicated solely to the commercial market in the United States, specializes in preventive and remedial pest management and food safety consulting services for leading food processing, agriculture, healthcare, and hospitality and distribution facilities.
